Two Grayling skiers qualify for the state finals
Two Grayling High School skiers, Jacob Macfalda and David Burr, with their placements at regionals on Monday at Nub’s Nob, qualified for the upcoming state finals.
In giant slalom, Grayling’s boys finished 6th as a team. Macfalda qualified for the state finals with a 13th place finish in the event as an individual. He had a final time of 55.48.
Other placements for the Vikings in giant slalom included: (boys) Burr, 20th; Zack Osga, 34th; Chris Baudoux, 45th; Devin O’Dell, 47th; Colton Laskowski, 49th; (girls) Nicole Oppermann, 27th; Ellie Wagner, 33rd; CeCe Cvitkovich, 34th; Katie Snider, 40th; Sorenza Couture, 41st.
The Grayling girls placed 8th as a group in giant slalom.
In the slalom competition, Grayling’s boys took 5th and the girls finished 7th.
Burr qualified for the state finals in slalom with a 14th place individual finish. He posted a time of 1:17.49.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 state finals will be held at Schuss Mountain on Monday, Feb. 26.
