District Health Department #10
Out of an abundance of caution, District Health Department #10 (DHD#10) is recommending that visitors to Lake Margrethe avoid swallowing foam that may occur at beaches or on the shoreline.
Lake foam was tested from Lake Margrethe and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were detected in some lake foam samples. Research is ongoing to determine the cause and potential remediation of lake foam.
Skin contact with lake foam is not considered to be of concern because PFAS does not easily absorb into the skin.
