Carolyn Sue Stennett, 53, of Grayling, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
She was born May 5, 1963, in Pontiac, the daughter of Ernest and Carol (Eddy) Hopson.
The first thing that people noticed about Carolyn was her sunny disposition and friendly personality. She was always happy, and she had a giving spirit. Carolyn doted on her beloved husband, Duane, and she loved animals, especially her cats. In her spare time, Carolyn was a voracious reader, and she enjoyed watching TV. Most of all, Carolyn loved her family.
Carolyn is survived by: her husband of 17 years, Duane Stennett of Grayling; her mother, Carol Fisher of Clarkston; her father, Ernest (Laurie) of Holly; her siblings, Tina Hopson Fay of Davisburg, Ernie Hopson of Clarkston, Thomas Hopson of Holly, and James Hopson of Holly; her nieces and nephews, Jessica Fay, Mike Armstrong, and Nick, Sophia, Kaitlyn, Tommy, and Joshua Hopson; her special friend, Tracy Gorski of Grayling; by her beloved cats, AC and Snoop.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and by her stepfather, Donald Fisher.
Cremation has taken place at the Benzie Area Crematory, in Beulah, and a celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, is in charge of arrangements.
