Sylvia Mae Keelean, 80, of Grayling, passed away on February 7, 2018.
She was born a "Coal Miner’s Daughter,” to the late Leonard and Ethyl (Cook) Phillips on February 26, 1937 in War, West Virginia. Sylvia was one of eight children.
She married Charles "Dick" Keelean on August 8, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan. They were married for 62 years before he preceded her in death in 2017.
Sylvia was an avid reader, an excellent seamstress, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an outstanding markswoman. She was a member of the Grayling Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her daughters: Debby (Jimmy) Esco and Beverly Harris; grandchildren: Paige, Hallie, Roger, Catie, and Holly and four great-grandchildren; sister: Gail Dillon of North Carolina; brothers: Paul Phillips of Virginia, and Jackie Phillips of Florida.
Sylvia's family is appreciative of the help "A Great Guy,” Carl Pillavant, has given over many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick; sons, Chuck and Kenny Keelean; and brothers, Leonard, Charlie, Bill, and Johnny Phillips.
