Carolyn Joyce Gnath, 63, of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away after a long struggle with cancer on December 26th, 2017.
Carolyn was born in Bath, Michigan, on September 24, 1954, to Shirley Bordeaux and Denzel Hoseit.
Carolyn graduated from Bath High School and later moved to Northern Michigan where she went on to obtain an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Kirtland Community College.
On March 18, 1989, Carolyn married James Arthur Gnath. Together they raised three daughters.
Carolyn and James enjoyed fishing and camping with their children. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed crafting, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She was known for her incredible talent of crocheting things like hats, gloves, and blankets.
She also loved to listen to music that included Anne Murray, the Carpenters, the Moody Blues, and Neil Diamond.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, James Arthur Gnath, of Wasilla, Alaska; her sister, Kathy Lee Tyson, of Palmer, Alaska; her father, Denzel Hoseit, of Mesick, Michigan; and great-grandson; Aiden Robert Gagnon of Onaway, Michigan.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Bordeaux, of Frederic, Michigan; and three daughters, Mandy Demoines (Chara) of Killeen, Texas; Janelle Peters (Cliff) of Onaway, Michigan; and Chandra Garms of Texas City, Texas. Brothers and sisters include Pat Tyson of Palmer, Alaska; Sally Bordeaux of Grayling, Michigan; Joe Bordeaux Jr. (Tina) of Kauai, Hawaii; David Bordeaux (Tammie) of Deltona, Florida; and Amiee Rollins (Chris) of Frederic, Michigan. Carolyn is also survived by four grandchildren, Katelyn and Tiffany Gagnon of Onaway, Michigan; Victor Garms of Texas City, Texas; Bailey Irvin of Killeen, Texas; and Dalton Peters of Onaway, Michigan. Carolyn had two great-granddaughters, Bailey Gagnon and Patricia Bentley, both of Onaway, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gnath will always be remembered and missed dearly by her loved ones.
There will be no funeral services at the request of Mrs. Gnath.
