COA to conduct Frederic Satellite Meal - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Frederic Satellite Meal on Friday, Dec. 8, at 12 p.m. at the Frederic Township Hall. The lunch includes, breaded skinless chicken breast, baked sweet potato, mixed vegetables, and applesauce. Lunch is open to the public. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. American Legion Auxiliary to meet - The American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion on Tuesday, Dec. 12. The group meets once a month on the second Tuesday of each month.
DHHS assistance appointments available - DHHS assistance appointments are available at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center. Diane Howland, Eligibility Specialist from Crawford County Department of Health and Human Services, will be at the Senior Center on Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to take appointments. Howland will be available to meet with individuals to explain DHHS Assistance Programs, answer questions regarding eligibility requirements, address case specific questions, and take applications for assistance. Half hour appointments are available by calling (989) 348-7123. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street.
Frederic to host euchre event - The Frederic Township Hall, located at 6470 Manistee, will host a euchre event on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. Sign up starts at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $20. No need to bring a partner. All proceeds will benefit Frederic Township parks and recreation.
Christmas carol event to be held - Christmas carols will be ringing from the walls of the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 5:45 p.m. This free Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long will be led by the choir from Mt. Hope Lutheran Church. An enchilada dinner will be served served at 5 p.m. Suggested donation for seniors 60 and over is $3. The cost for those under 60 is $5 per person. Senior Center to host Christmas party - Someone will be transformed into a Christmas tree. Someone will grow antlers. Bring your sense of humor, Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 5:45 p.m. to the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center. It’s a Christmas party at the Senior Center where everyone is invited to laugh, relax, and enjoy an evening of fun. Refreshments and dessert will be served. The event will feature a lasagna dinner at 5 p.m. The cost of dinner is $5 for those under 60 and a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and over. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street. Little League to conduct board meeting - Grayling Little League will conduct a board meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. at Charlie’s Country Corner. Anyone who would like to be involved in the program is welcome to attend.
Animal Shelter meeting has new location - The AuSable Valley Animal Shelter’s monthly board meeting – slated for Dec. 7 this month – has a new location, 6211 West M-72 (next to Dunckley Floor Covering). Meeting begins at 6 p.m. The board meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month.
Church to host music event - Bear Lake Christian Church – located at 221 E. Bear Lake Road – will host Full-Time Family Music Ministry John and Kate Denner on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. CDs will be available for purchase.
