Spaghetti dinner to benefit Animal Shelter - A spaghetti dinner to benefit the AuSable Valley Animal Shelter – a 501C3 non-profit that cares for abandoned and abused animals, helps families reunite with lost pets, and runs a spay and neuter program – will be held at Gray Rock Pub & Grub on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 4-7 p.m. Ticket prices are $6/adult or $4/child (under age of 12).
Senior Center to host evening of love songs - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center will celebrate February – “the month of Love” – by hosting an evening of love songs on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 5:45 p.m. This sing-a-long is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend and share their favorite love song. Pat Fowler will be leading the group in song. The event will include a beef taco dinner at 5 p.m. Dinner for those under 60 is a cost of $5 and those 60 and over is a suggested $3 donation. Free legal assistance available for seniors - The Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center, in partnership with the law office of Adam T. Vernon, PLLC, and Jason R. Thompson, Law Office PLC, is offering free legal assistance on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 1-4 p.m. for older adults, age 60 and over, in Crawford County. These consultations are designed to see if your issue really needs an attorney, to what extend you need legal services, and when retaining an attorney what might be needed. Consultations are by appointment only and will last 20 to 30 minutes. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the Commission on Aging at (989) 348-7123.
Free hearing clinic offered at Senior Center - The Crawford County Commission on Aging offers a Free Hearing Clinic for senior citizens on the third Monday of every month from 1-4 p.m. Half hour appointments are provided by Dr. Ryan Hamilton of Advantage Audiology. Dr. Hamilton will evaluate your hearing and discuss further recommendations if needed. He will also clean and inspect your hearing aids. The Hearing Clinic takes place at the Senior Center, which is located at 308 Lawndale Street in Grayling. Call (989) 348-7123 to make an appointment.
