Cookie Walk to be held this weekend - Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church will host its annual Cookie Walk and Holiday Shoppe during the Christmas Walk on Saturday, November 17, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Buy homemade cookies and treats by the pound, shop with vendors (like Avon, jBloom, Pampered Chef, Norwex, Origami Owl, LulaRoe, SSG Handcrafts and more), enjoy a bowl of soup and a sandwich. The trolley will bring you to the door.
Presentation topic is Alzheimer’s disease - Join the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center on Tuesday, November 20, at 9 a.m. for a free breakfast and health presentation. The topic will be “The 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease” with guest speaker Taylor Cramer, Program Coordinator from the Alzheimer’s Association. Learn about how to recognize common signs of Alzheimer’s disease, the benefits of a diagnosis, possible tests and assessments for the diagnostic process, and about Alzheimer’s Association resources. Free breakfast includes an omelette station, hashbrowns, muffins, mixed fruit, juice, and coffee. The breakfast and presentation will be held at the Senior Center, 308 Lawndale Street. Thanksgiving Dinner for community to be held - Resurrection Life Center – located at 2640 W. M-72 two miles east of Burger King – will host a Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Friday, November 16, at 6 p.m. Open to everyone.
Veterans can get ride to VA hospital - Veterans living in Crawford, Kalkaska, Roscommon, Otsego, or Ogemaw counties can arrange to be picked up along the I-75 corridor for a ride to the VA hospital by a Disabled American Veterans van. Call the Veterans Service Office at (989) 344-3861.
Church to host Annual Holiday Bazaar - St. John Lutheran Church – located at 710 Spruce Street – will host its Annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lots of holiday items, baked goods, and luncheon with soup and dessert.
