Lovells Satellite Meal to be held - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Lovells Satellite Meal on Friday, October 19, at 12 p.m. at the Lovells Township Hall. The lunch includes pork roast, baked potato, green beans, and a pear. Lunch is open to the public. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. Munson Home Health will provide blood pressure and sugar checks and Bingo will be played following the meal. Call (989) 348-7123 for a reservation. Artisan Village to host free concert - Dharma Records USA and Artisan Village are happy to present two local groups, Oh Brother, Big Sister and A Brighter Bloom, in concert on Wednesday, October 17, from 7-9 p.m. The Artisan Village is located at 219 Michigan Avenue. Program for caregivers offered - Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an evidence-based, self-care educational program for family caregivers. It helps the caregiver build the skills necessary to take better care of themselves while still providing care for someone else. This six-week program, developed by Legacy Caregiver Services in Portland, Oregon, has been shown to reduce caregiver guilt, anger and depression, and improve caregiver self-care and communication skills. Brooke Mainville of NEMCSA and Chuck Corwin will be the instructors. The class meets once a week, beginning on Friday, October 19, and continuing until November 30, at the Crawford County Library, 201 Plum Street, from 1-3:30 p.m. Registration is necessary. Senior Center to host Harvest Dinner - The community is invited to attend a Harvest Dinner at the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center on Thursday, October 18, from 4-6 p.m. Menu includes cornish hens with cherries jubilee, green bean almondine, Mandarin cranberry salad, mashed sweet potato, and apple pie. The suggested donation for those 60 years and older is $3 and for those under 60 the cost is $5 per person. The dinner is open to the public. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street.
