Senior Center to host Enchanted Forest Party - The community is invited to attend an Enchanted Forest Party on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center.  The party includes a Short Story, the choosing of a Prince and Princess, a surprise, and cream puffs for dessert. A meal before the party will include French dip sandwiches, red skin potatoes, corn, and burst o’ berries. The cost of dinner is $5 for those under 60 and a suggested $3 donation for those over 60. Jazz group to perform at Artisan Village - The Jazzed Because Quartet will take the stage at the Artisan Village on Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 7-9 p.m. Come out for an evening of fun and entertainment as the JBQ performs jazzy tunes. The Artisan Village is located at 219 Michigan Avenue. The concert is open to the public and there is no charge. Donations are accepted. For more information, contact Bea Patrick at (989) 348-5995.
Church clubs offered for kids in K-9th grade - Calvary Baptist Church’s AWANA Clubs will be starting on Wednesday, Sept. 20. AWANA runs September 20 through April on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8 p.m. for kids in kindergarten through 9th grade. Sept. 20 is Parents Night and starts at 6 p.m. Bring your children and stay for a fun night. Pizza and refreshments will be provided. Grandparent’s Day Dinner to feature BBQ - The community is invited to attend a Grandparent’s Day Dinner at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center, 308 Lawndale, on Thursday, Sept. 21. Dinner will be served from 4-6 p.m. Menu includes BBQ ribs, midori blend, ramen noodle salad, fresh fruit mix, and cherry pie. The Annual COA Raffle Drawing will take place after dinner. The meal is $5 per person for those under age 60 and a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over. The dinner is open to the public and no reservations are required. Viking Band Day slated for Saturday - A Viking Band Day fundraiser will be held at the Grayling Family Fare from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16. The event will include a car wash, a bake sale, a can/bottle drive, and a hot dog sale. An additional car wash will be held at Diane’s Car Wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Band performance raffle begins - A Band Command Performance Raffle is currently running until Saturday, Sept. 30. Tickets are $5 each. Tickets are available from band student parents. The drawing will be held on Oct. 5 and the winner will be announced at halftime of the Grayling High School football homecoming game. Grayling Eastern Star begins pastie sale - The Grayling Eastern Star is taking orders for pasties. Call Sue or Joe at (989) 324-7051. The cost is $5 each and they will be available for pick-up at the Masonic Temple, 304 E. Michigan Avenue, from 9 a.m. to noon starting on Monday, Sept. 11.
COA to conduct Lovells Satellite Meal - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Lovells Satellite Meal on Friday, Sept. 15, at 12 p.m. at the Lovells Township Hall. The lunch includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, sugar snap peas, and peaches. Lunch is open to the public. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and over and a $5 cost for those under 60. Munson Home Health will provide blood pressure and sugar checks and Bingo will be played following the meal. Call (989) 348-7123 for a reservation. The Lovells Township Hall is located at 8405 Twin Bridge Road.
