Monthly euchre tournament to be held - The Frederic Parks and Recreation Committee will hold its monthly euchre tournament on Saturday, April 8, at the Frederic Township Hall, 6470 Manistee Street. Sign in will be held at 1 p.m. with games starting at 2 p.m. The entry fee is $20. Prize award depends on participation. All proceeds will benefit local parks and recreation projects.
Substance abuse partnership to meet - The Crawford Partnership for Substance Abuse Awareness will meet on Tuesday, April 18, at Grayling City Hall from 9-11 a.m. The Crawford Partnership for Substance Abuse Awareness meets on the third Tuesday of the month from 9-11 a.m. to discuss substance abuse prevention initiatives in Crawford County. All members of the community are welcome to attend.
Legion Auxiliary to meet on April 11 - The American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion post on Tuesday, April 11.
COA to host recycling/composting event - Join the Crawford County Commission on Aging on Tuesday, April 11, at 12:15 p.m. as they present Recycling & Composting. Gary Lamberg from TrueNorth Community Services will discuss the uses of items when they have served their first purpose along with tips on composting for use in gardens. A lunch before the presentation will include smothered pork, broccoli, carrots, berries, and a banana. The cost is a suggested $3 donation for those 60 and over and a $5 charge for those under 60. The presentation will be held at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center at 308 Lawndale Street in Grayling. For more information contact the Senior Center at (989) 348-7123.
DHHS assistance available at Senior Center - DHHS Assistance appointments are available at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center. Diane Howland, Eligibility Specialist from Crawford County Department of Health and Human Services will be at the Senior Center on Wednesday, April 12, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to take appointments. Howland will be available to meet with individuals to explain DHHS Assistance Programs, answer questions regarding eligibility requirements, case specific questions, and take applications for assistance. Half hour appointments are available by calling 348-7123. The Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale Street.
