Financial Empowerment Presentation to be held - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center, in collaboration with Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency, will host a Financial Empowerment Presentation on March 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Grayling City Hall. Presented by Ashley Gagnon, a HUD Certified Financial Coach with HECM Certification (Home Equity Conversion Mortgage), attendees will learn to identify the best ways for them to work through the creation and management of their budget. Then learn how to live on a budget and track spending. Includes couponing, smart shopping, effective ways to reduce expenses, and ways to reduce energy expenses. United Way to hold annual meeting - Crawford County United Way will be holding its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. in the meeting room of the Devereaux Memorial Crawford County Library, 201 Plum Street. Senior Center to host breakfast presentation - The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center will host a free breakfast presentation on Tuesday, March 26, at 9 a.m. The topic will be Nutrition As We Age, featuring guest speaker Denise Aungst, MSU Extension Community Nutrition Instructor. As we age, healthy eating can make a difference in our health, help to improve how we feel, and encourage a sense of well-being. Join us for this interactive presentation on making healthy choices. Learn about MYPlate, cost effective recipes, ideas for incorporating fruits and vegetables into meals and snacks, and participate in a game of Jeopardy. Free breakfast includes an omelet station, hash browns, muffins, mixed fruit, juice, and coffee. The breakfast and presentation will be held at the Senior Center, 308 Lawndale Street. Baseball Wing Ding Dinner to be held - The Grayling Baseball Wing Ding Dinner will be held at the Gray Rock Cafe on Wednesday, March 20, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ticket price is $8 per person (meal includes wing dings, fries, dinner roll, and water). All proceeds go to the Grayling High School baseball program.
Bake sale/can drive to benefit youth wrestling - A bake sale/pop can drive to benefit the Grayling Youth Wrestling Club will be held at Family Fare on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
United Way accepting funding requests - Crawford County United Way is seeking applications from local charitable health and human service agencies and organizations for fund distribution throughout 2019-2020. Applicants must fully describe their array of services, demonstrate how they meet local needs, and prove their cost-effectiveness and accountability to the community.
