Senior Center to host St. Patrick’s dinner - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center’s St. Patrick’s Day Dinner on Thursday, March 14, from 4-6 p.m. The Senior Center will be serving corned beef and cabbage, boiled Irish potatoes, parsley baby carrots, Irish fluff, and mint brownies. The suggested donation for seniors 60 and over is $3.50. The price for those under 60 is $5.50. Dinner is open to the public and no reservations are required. American Legion Auxiliary to meet - The American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion on Tuesday, March 12. The group meets once a month on the second Tuesday of each month.
Dial-a-ride offers shopping trip to Gaylord - On the third Friday every month, Dial-a-Ride will be making its monthly shopping/lunch trip to Gaylord. This month the trip is March 15. The trip will include lunch (self-pay) at different restaurants around Gaylord and a trip to the Walmart Plaza for shopping. The cost is $10 per person. Bus will leave Grayling at 10:30 a.m. Lunch in Gaylord will be around 11:30 a.m. Shopping will be from approximately 12:30 p.m. to 2/2:30 p.m. Due to limited parking at the COA, Dial-a-Ride will be picking up passengers at the Mini Mall at 10:30 a.m. Park on the south side of the car wash and wait in the car for the bus to arrive. Dial-a-Ride will then travel to Frederic and pick up people at the Frederic Township Hall between 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Park on the north end of the parking lot in Frederic. Coffee hour for veterans to be held - The Crawford County Veteran’s Service Office will be hosting a coffee hour on the second Thursday of each month. The next meeting will take place at American Legion Post #106 on Thursday, March 14, from 9-10 a.m. Coffee, tea, and doughnuts will be provided free of charge. This is an event for veterans to meet and talk with each other. It will be a social setting with no formal speeches or agenda. All veterans are welcome. Lovells Satellite Meal to be held - The community is invited to the Crawford County Commission on Aging’s Lovells Satellite Meal on Friday, March 15, at 12 p.m. at the Lovells Township Hall. The lunch includes Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy, Brussels sprouts, and grapes. Lunch is open to the public. The cost of the lunch is a suggested donation of $3.50 for those 60 and over and a $5.50 cost for those under 60. Munson Home Health will provide blood pressure & sugar checks and Bingo will be played following the meal. Call (989) 348-7123 for a reservation. The Lovells Township Hall is located at 8405 Twin Bridge Road.
