Benefit spaghetti dinner to be held - A benefit dinner for Vicki McDuffie will be held at the Grayling American Legion #106 (located at 106 S. James Street) on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 5-8 p.m. Cost to attend is $8 per person ($20 per family, up to six, $2 each additional family member). Dinner will include spaghetti, salad, breadsticks, drinks, and dessert. The event will also feature raffle prizes and a silent auction. If you cannot attend but would still like to donate or help in some way, contact Lisa at (989) 745-3112 or Samantha at (989) 915-9921. The purpose of the benefit dinner is to help McDuffie travel to Florida for cancer treatments.
 
Baby to Toddler Closet open twice a month - The local Baby to Toddler Closet is open the first Thursday of each month from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m, with last client at 5:30 p.m. and then on the third Thursday of each month 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. with last client at 5:30 p.m. For more information, contact Rose Mary at (989) 348-2985.
 
Open Mic event changed to Thursday - Due to a scheduling conflict, First Friday Open Mic at the Artisan Village Gallery will be held on Thursday March 1, instead of Friday, March 2. Closet poets, shower vocalists, wannabe story tellers, and novice musicians, the stage is set and the audience is waiting. Family friendly entertainment. 
 
Community seeks survey input - Community leaders are embarking on the possible development of a community center to serve area residents and visitors. This would include space for a new Senior Center located within the new Community Center. The development team would like your input into how you might meet your friends and neighbors at the center and what amenities and activities you would like included in the facility. The survey can be accessed online at https://surveysforfuture.polldaddy.com/s/crawfordcounty-community-center.... If you do not have Internet or access to a computer to complete the survey online, paper copies are available for pick up at the Crawford County Commission on Aging and Senior Center at 308 Lawndale Street in Grayling.
 
Relay for Life Kickoff event slated for Feb. 27 - Crawford-Oscoda County Relay for Life Kickoff will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 6-8 p.m. at the American Legion Reception Hall (106 S James Street). Please use rear entrance. Relay for Life teams and guests are invited to help ring in the 2018 Relay for Life season. “Give the Gift of Hope,” “Christmas in July” is the theme. Dinner, dessert, and soft beverages provided. Wear your ugly Christmas sweater for a chance to win Relay Bucks.
